for now, i am free. and so are many other high school seniors.
i turned in my USC app and i'm not going to get in!
at least it's over and done with.
it's out of my control, and i can go on with life for at least a week.
last-chance SAT next weekend, but i don't care.
i'm free from all the horrible bs-ed essays.
free from elaborating on all my life goals, dreams, aspirations.
free from running my parents dry of their hard-earned money just to send my college applications and score reports.
damn this system, damn it all.
at times i wonder why we do so much, but it's useless to ask such a question.
a necessary evil? no, maybe not.
just the way life is. you just take it on the chin and move forward.
as i've been saying so often these past few weeks, "onward, my friends."
